Author Guidelines

Author's Guidelines ( Instruction to Authors)

The authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts as per the instructions/specifications given below. It should be noted that the review process is solely depend upon the significance of the work and the care used by authors to represent it, in the form of their manuscripts. Therefore, authors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before preparing/submitting their manuscript for publication.


  1. Full length research articles
  2. Review articles
  3. Short communications
  4. Letters

Manuscripts and other communication should be sent directly to the secretariat of the Journal at the following address:

Please read the following instructions carefully : 

Manuscripts should be prepared as word documents in Times New Roman (font size should be 12) on A4 size with a margin of 2.5 cm of all four sides. The manuscript should be typed single-spaced including references and tables also.

All figures and tables should be at appropriate place in the text. The manuscript should be in the following order:

Title page: It should have Title, Name(s) of author(s) and their affiliations i.e. postal address, corresponding author’s email address(es).

Abstract:  It should have a brief idea of the manuscript and not exceed 250 words.

Keywords: It should contain up to 5 key terms related to the research work. 

Introduction: It should represent the scope, objective and novelty of the research work.

Materials and Methods: It should contain information about the materials and the methods adopted to carry out the research work like animals, chemicals and animal ethical committee permission, software used and procedures followed etc........???

Results and Discussion: It should contain summary of the research work performed, result interpretations and finally their conclusion. 

Conclusions: It should contain the answers of research objectives written in paragraph. 

Acknowledgements (if any) : It should contain the information regarding any research grant support or the assistance of colleagues. 

References: The references should be represented as large brackets e.g [3] in the text. The references pattern should be in the following manner:

For a journal

Surname, Author's initials, Year, Journal, Volume (Issue), Page No.

Wafi A., Supriyanto G., Tjahjandarie T.S., 2016, Indo. J. Chem., 16 (1), 32-35.

 A book

A thesis

Surname, Author's Initials, year of publication, DSc/PhD/MSc/BSc thesis, University, town, country, page number.

Agutter, A., 2010, PhD thesis, Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, UK, 34-36. 


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

The authors have to send the copy right agreement once after the paper  has been considered for publication in Jurnal Kesehatan Islam in the following format

i) The undersigned authors, co-authors retain the right to amend,  republish, copy otherwise, present verbally, or distribute the work in  printed or online version, provided that such use is for the personal  non-commercial gain of the authors and employers
ii) The authors are responsible for any hazards such as experiments  described in manuscript, statements made in text, any breach of rights,  and the authors should be responsible for such instances and Journal of Islamic Medicine Research is  not responsible for such instances
iii) The authors will have the proprietary right ultimately, with them  and only copy rights are transferred to Journal of Islamic Medicine Research/Jurnal Kesehatan ISLAM
iv) The authors should affirm that the article is an original work and  does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any other person  or entity
