Reviewer Responsibility
Reviewers are tasked with assessing the submitted articles following their fields of expertise and providing constructive feedback and objective assessments to the authors regarding the work that has been submitted.
Things to Consider Before Conducting a Review
- Only review articles that match your competencies.
- Notify the editor of the review process deadline.
- Disclose potential conflicts of interest before starting the evaluation.
Review Process
When grading articles, pay attention to the following aspects:
- Title: Does the title clearly reflect the content of the article?
- Abstract: Does the abstract accurately summarize the content of the article?
- Introduction: Does the introduction explain the urgency and uniqueness of the research topic?
Article Content
Ensure that authors follow the established writing guidelines (manuscript template).
- Is there any indication of plagiarism in this article?
- If similar research has been done before, is this article still relevant for publication?
- Does this article present new ideas, have depth of analysis, and is it interesting to read?
- Does this article make a meaningful contribution to the development of science?
- Does the article meet the quality standards set by the journal?
- Does the article fit the scope and purpose of the journal?
Research Methods
Appropriateness and Granularity of Methods
- Does the author explain in detail the data collection methods?
- Are the theories and references used appropriate to this research?
- Is the research design valid enough to answer the research question?
- Is the information presented clear enough to allow replication of the study?
- Are the procedures used fully identified?
- If there is a new method, is the explanation detailed and easy to understand?
- Has the sampling technique been done correctly?
- Are the research tools and materials well described?
- Are the types of data collected accurately described and how they are measured?
Results and Data Analysis
Research results should be presented clearly with the use of appropriate analysis and relevant statistical tools.
Discussion and Conclusion
- The conclusion must provide an answer to the research problem.
- There should be continuity between the research results, discussion, and conclusion.
- Research results should be compared with previous research.
- If there are discrepancies or unique findings, the author should explain the contributing factors.
- The conclusion should provide insight into the future development of the research.
Final Decision
Reviewers must communicate with researchers/authors about the content of the article through the OJS system. After completing the review, the reviewer must fill in the Reviewer Form of Folium Journal of Agricultural Sciences (required) and Reviewer Comments of Folium Journal of Agricultural Sciences (recommended). Based on feedback from reviewers, editors have the authority to make the following decisions:
- Accepted without revision.
- Accepted with minor revisions that will be checked by the editor.
- Accepted with revisions as recommended by the reviewer.
- It needs a thorough revision before it can be reconsidered.
- Rejected.
