POST-DIVORCE CHILDCARE COLLABORATION: CONTEXTUAL HADHANAH IN INDONESIA

This study aims to analyze post-divorce collaborative parenting between biological parents and grandparents in Indoensia and its relevance to Islamic family law. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three primary informants (mother, father, and grandmother), observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Talcott Parsons' structural functionalism theory and the Maqashid Shariah perspective. The findings show that collaborative parenting emerges as a family adaptive strategy to maintain children's welfare despite communication barriers, emotional conflicts, and social stigma. Grandparents often function as caregiving stabilizers when parental roles are weakened. From the perspective of Islamic law, this practice does not contradict the concept of hadhanah as long as the child's best interests are prioritized. This study concludes that intergenerational collaboration can serve as a contextual parenting model in rural communities to ensure child protection after divorce.
