By submitting their work to BASA Journal of Language & Literature, authors retain full copyright of their articles upon publication while granting the journal the right of first publication. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). This arrangement allows authors to maintain control over their intellectual property while enabling the journal to distribute the work openly.
Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
