Publication Ethics
Ring Mechanical Engineering is a peer reviewed journal published biannually by Mechanical Engineering Department, Universitas Islam Malang. The Ring Mechanical Engineering follows the guidelines set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all aspects of publication ethics. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the Author, Editorial Board, and the reviewers.
Publisher’s Responsibilities
- Responsible for publishing articles that have gone through the process of editing, reviewing, and layout in accordance with the rules of publishing a scientific journal.
- Responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.
- Responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property and copyright, and editorial freedom.
Editors’ Responsibilities
- Editors must decide the suitable articles to be published based on the requirements with regard to defamation, copyright infringement, duplication and plagiarism.
- In the process of reviewing and accepting the manuscript, editors are guided by the principle of equal treatment in making the decisions without distinguishing race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology of the author.
- Editors will not disclose any information about the articles without the author's permission.
- Editors will not use unpublished articles for their own purposes and will return them to the authors.
Reviewers’ Responsibilities
- Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions related to the submitted articles.
- Reviewers recommend the reviewed articles objectively by clear arguments.
- Reviewers are responsible for quotations, references, duplication and plagiarism of the reviewed articles.
- Reviewers maintain the confidentiality of information and do not take the advantages of reviewed articles for personal gain.
Authors’ Responsibility
- Authors must present the manuscript based on the original thought clearly, honestly, without duplication and plagiarism.
- Authors are responsible for the confirmation of submitted articles.
- Authors must show references from other people's opinions and quotation.
- Authors must write the articles in an ethical, honest and responsible manner which are in accordance with applicable scientific writing regulations.
- Authors must agree with the editing process without changing the substance of articles.
