Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The authors in this Fashohah Journal are academics, researchers, and/or educators in the field of Arabic language. Authors can upload their manuscripts after registering with Fashohah Journal. The manuscript uploaded by the author must meet the criteria and writing system established by the editorial team of Fashohah Journal and should not have been published elsewhere. Manuscripts may be submitted in either Arabic or Indonesian, following the template set by the Fashohah Journal editorial team. Authors are responsible for the originality of their manuscript. The manuscript should consist of 15-25 pages, and the article template can be downloaded. The manuscript writing must use footnote citations as follows:

 JOURNAL WRITING FORMAT 

Title and Subtitles (if any) 

  • The title should not exceed 15 words; if it does, it becomes a subtitle.
  • The title should be in uppercase letters, with single spacing.
  • Titles in Arabic should be written in Latin script.
  • Author's Name;
  • The name must be written in full, without abbreviations, and without titles.
  • Name of the author's institution/agency;
  • Active email of the author;

Abstract 

  • The abstract consists of background, purpose of writing, research methods (if applicable), and conclusion;
  • The abstract should be written in both Indonesian and English;
  • The abstract must not exceed 150 words, written in Times New Roman 12, single-spaced, with 3-5 keywords.
  • Keywords are bolded while the content of the keywords is in regular font, written in Sentence Case.

Journal 

  • Introduction, containing background, benefits and objectives, problem formulation, research methods (if research results are provided).
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Suggestions (if any)

References 

The reference list is classified into books, journals, theses, dissertations, and internet sources. 

The reference list includes only the works cited in the manuscript (included in footnotes).

  1. Books are written in the format

Author's Name, (Year of Publication). Title of the Book, Publisher City: Publisher 

Ex. Sukardono, (2001), Ilmu Lughoh, Yogyakarta; Liberty. 

  1. Journals are written in the format

Author's Name, (Year, date, month of publication), Article Title, Journal Name, Volume, Number, where the article is cited. 

Ex. Kasiono, (June, 2010), Penerapan Metode Mubasyaroh, Ijaz Arabi, Volume XI, Number 2. 

  1. Theses, Dissertations, and Research Papers

Author's Name, (Year of Publication), Title of Thesis/Dissertation, Thesis/Dissertation, City of Study Program; Name of Study Program. 

Ex. Surahmat, (1997), Efektifitas Penggunaan Media Quizizz, Disertasi, Semarang; Doctoral Program in Law Studies at Diponegoro University. 

  1. Internet sources are written with the web address and access date

Author's Name, (date, month, and year written). Article Title. Accessed on date, month, year accessed. From the website name: URL address. 

Ex. Subandrio, (June 31, 2019), Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Indonesia, Accessed on August 31, 2020, From Hukum Online: tpp:///www.hukum.online.com/pembelajaran_bahasa arab_Indonesia.

  1. Footnote format for books:

 Citations with Footnotes also use 

  1. for references to the same source on the same page as the reference above without interruption by other references; if it’s a different page, include the page number.
  2. Cit. for references to the same source as the one above but on a different page and has been interrupted by other references. Ex. Sudono, Op. Cit. p. 65. If there are multiple references by Sudono, include the title of the reference after the name. Ex. Sudono, Theory of Law and Practice, Op. Cit. p. 65.
  3. Cit. for references that have been previously mentioned on the same page but have been interrupted by other references, including the author's name. Ex. Sudono, Loc. Cit. If there are multiple references by Sudono, include the title of the reference after the name. Ex. Sudono, Theory of Law and Practice, Loc. Cit.
