Archiving Policy

The Journal of Good Governance and Public Policy is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of its published scholarly content. The journal recognizes the importance of digital preservation in maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and ensuring that published articles remain accessible to readers, researchers, and the wider academic community.

Digital Archiving and Preservation

The journal seeks to preserve its published articles and associated metadata through appropriate digital archiving practices. These practices aim to minimize the risk of content loss resulting from technical failures, changes in publishing platforms, or other circumstances that may affect the availability of the journal website.

The journal's archiving arrangements may include the following measures, where applicable:

Open Journal Systems (OJS): Published articles and their metadata are maintained within the journal's OJS platform.

Institutional Repository: Published articles may be deposited in an institutional repository managed by the publisher or affiliated institution, subject to applicable policies.

Author Self-Archiving: Authors may deposit their published articles in institutional repositories or other academic platforms in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policies.

Digital Backups: The journal encourages regular backups of published content and associated metadata to support recovery in the event of technical failure or data loss.

External Digital Preservation Services: The journal may participate in recognized digital preservation services, such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, or CLOCKSS, when such services have been implemented and confirmed.

Long-Term Accessibility

The journal aims to maintain stable access to its published content through its official website. Appropriate measures will be taken, where feasible, to maintain the integrity of published articles, bibliographic metadata, and associated files.

If the journal's website or publishing platform becomes temporarily unavailable, the journal will make reasonable efforts to restore access to previously published content.

Continuity of Access

In the event that the journal ceases publication or its website is discontinued, the journal will endeavor to maintain access to its published scholarly record through available institutional repositories, digital archives, or other appropriate preservation arrangements, subject to the availability of the relevant infrastructure and agreements.

Responsibilities

The editorial team and publisher are responsible for supporting the implementation of the journal's archiving policy, including maintaining appropriate records and coordinating preservation measures within their respective responsibilities.

Policy Review

This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in digital preservation standards, publishing technology, and scholarly communication practices.

The Journal of Good Governance and Public Policy is committed to responsible digital preservation as part of its broader commitment to scholarly integrity, transparency, and the long-term dissemination of research in good governance and public policy.
