Peer Review Process
EFL Praxis: Journal of English Language Pedagogy implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic integrity, objectivity, and high scholarly standards. In this system, the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation.
- Initial Editorial Screening (Pre-Review)
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial pre-review conducted by members of the Editorial Board. This stage assesses:
- Alignment with the journal’s focus and scope
- Adherence to the manuscript template and submission guidelines
- Compliance with ethical standards, including a maximum similarity index of 20%
- Overall suitability for further review
Only manuscripts that meet these preliminary criteria are advanced to external peer review.
- External Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the pre-review stage are assigned to a minimum of two external reviewers with relevant expertise, selected at the discretion of the Editorial Board. When necessary, a third reviewer may be invited to provide additional evaluation.
Reviewers are required to:
- Complete the standardized review form provided by the journal
- Provide constructive, detailed comments on the manuscript
- Insert anonymous feedback directly within the document using the review tools
All reviews are conducted anonymously to maintain objectivity.
- Communication of Review Decisions
The Editorial Board communicates the review results to authors in a timely manner. Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers’ recommendations and editorial instructions.
- Revision and Re-Evaluation
Revised manuscripts are re-examined by the Editorial Board. When deemed necessary, the revised version may be returned to the original reviewers for further assessment to ensure that all concerns have been appropriately addressed.
- Review Records and Confidentiality
All reviewer comments, forms, and revision histories are recorded and securely stored in the journal’s OJS system. These records remain confidential and are not made publicly available.
