Penerapan alat minimum quantity lubrication pada pemberian cairan pemotongan sebagai upaya pemesinan ramah lingkungan

Abstract


Kualitas pemesinan dan umur pahat dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan cairan pemotongan. Pada saat ini industri manufaktur mengarah pada kebutuhan akan proses pemesinan yang ramah lingkungan. Salah satu upaya ini dapat dicapai dengan menggunakan cairan pemotongan seminimum mungkin selama pemesinan. Metode ini disebut Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL). Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah penerapan peralatan MQL di bengkel mesin perkakas mitra. Hal ini untuk mengedukasi masyarakat industri kecil mesin perkakas khususnya bengkel mitra tentang proses pemesinan yang ramah lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah pendampingan kepada bengkel mesin perkakas mitra. Pelaksanaannya meliputi sosialisasi (paparan dan diskusi), demonstrasi penggunaan peralatan MQL, dan monitoring. Pada kegiatan sosialisasi selain mitra, peserta undangan lainnya dan mahasiswa juga ikut berpartisipasi. Kegiatan telah berjalan dengan baik meskipun jumlah peserta terbatas akibat tingginya penyebaran Covid-19. Peserta lebih memahami tentang penting pemesinan yang ramah lingkungan. Begitu juga dalam kegiatan monitoring, mitra sudah dapat menggunakan peralatan yang diberikan dengan baik. Pemilik bengkel mitra mengharapkan kegiatan yang berkelanjutan atau topik baru yang dapat memberikan perkembangan positif bagi bengkelnya.
