Allegations of Ethical Misconduct
Misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, and plagiarism in the conduct, review, reporting, and writing scholarly articles. If authors are found to have committed such misconduct or other serious irregularities in a published article, the Editor of the Jurnal Inovasi Hasil Pengabdian Masyarakat (JIPEMAS) is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.
In addressing allegations of misconduct, the Editor and Editorial Board of JIPEMAS will follow the guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All allegations will be handled fairly and objectively through preliminary assessment and an investigation conducted by the Editor. Manuscripts found to contain ethical violations will be rejected. If misconduct is identified in a published article, JIPEMAS will take appropriate action, including issuing a correction or retracting the article, with the retraction notice linked to the original publication.
The initial stage of handling an allegation involves verifying the complaint, assessing whether it falls within the definition of publication ethics misconduct, and determining whether the complainant has any potential conflicts of interest.
If there are indications of ethical misconduct or serious irregularities in the implementation or reporting of community service activities, the Editor will communicate the allegations to the corresponding author and request clarification and a detailed response on behalf of all co-authors. Depending on the outcome of the evaluation, the Editor may conduct further reviews or consult relevant experts. If the allegations are not substantiated, the Editor may request clarification, supporting data, additional analyses, or manuscript revisions, as appropriate to the issues identified.
JIPEMAS encourages relevant institutions to conduct thorough investigations into allegations of ethical misconduct. Authors, Editors, and institutions share responsibility for maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. Accordingly, JIPEMAS will take proportionate action based on the findings of the investigation, including issuing corrections, retracting and replacing articles where appropriate, or retracting articles, to safeguard publication credibility and scientific integrity in the field of community service.
