Authorship Criteria
1. General Principles
Jurnal Inovasi Hasil Pengabdian Masyarakat (JIPEMAS) grants authorship to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to community service activities and the preparation of the manuscript. Authorship must reflect actual contributions, academic responsibility, and integrity in scholarly publishing.
To qualify for authorship, each individual must meet all of the following criteria:
-
Substantial contribution: Make a significant contribution to the conception, planning, design, implementation, or evaluation of the community service activity, or to the analysis and interpretation of its outcomes.
-
Involvement in manuscript preparation: Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual and scholarly content.
-
Approval of the final manuscript: Read and approve the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.
-
Accountability: Accept responsibility for their respective contributions and cooperate in ensuring that questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or validity of any part of the article are appropriately addressed.
All four criteria must be met for an individual to be listed as an author. Contributions that do not qualify for authorship may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section, with the consent of the individuals concerned.
2. Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editors and journal management throughout submission, peer review, revision, and publication. The corresponding author must also ensure that all authors have approved the authorship order, the final manuscript, and its submission to JIPEMAS.
The corresponding author must provide accurate information and confirm that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria. Any changes to the author list or authorship order after submission must be supported by a clear justification and approved by all relevant authors, as well as by the editor.
3. Authorship Order and Changes
The order of authors must be determined by mutual agreement, taking into account each individual's contribution to the community service activity and manuscript preparation. JIPEMAS does not permit authorship order to be determined solely by position, seniority, academic status, or institutional rank.
The addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after manuscript submission may be considered only when justified and supported by written consent from all relevant authors. Such changes must be submitted to the editor for review and approval before further processing.
4. Unacceptable Authorship Practices
JIPEMAS does not permit authorship practices that violate publication ethics, including:
-
Honorary authorship: Listing an individual as an author solely because of their position, seniority, or status without a qualifying contribution.
-
Gift authorship: Granting authorship to an individual who does not meet the authorship criteria as a form of reward or favor.
-
Ghost authorship: Failing to acknowledge an individual who has made a substantial contribution to the article without a justifiable reason.
-
Authorship without consent: Listing an individual as an author without their consent or without their approval of the final manuscript.
Violations of these requirements may be addressed in accordance with JIPEMAS publication ethics policies.
5. Non-Author Contributions
Individuals or institutions providing technical or administrative support, funding, facilities, field coordination, or other assistance that does not satisfy all authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section. Such acknowledgments should reasonably describe the contributions made and be included with the consent of the parties concerned. Funding or facility support alone does not qualify an individual for authorship.
6. Author Contribution Statement
JIPEMAS encourages authors to provide an author contribution statement explaining each author's role in the community service activity and manuscript preparation. The statement must be accurate, transparent, and reflective of each author's actual contribution.
All authors are responsible for ensuring that the authorship information submitted to the journal is accurate and not misleading.
