AI Policy

Andragogi: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Agama Islam recognizes the value of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in assisting authors with language editing, grammar checking, and improving clarity and readability. However, AI tools cannot be considered capable of initiating original research without direction by human authors. They cannot be held accountable for published work or research design, nor do they have legal standing to hold or assign copyright. In accordance with COPE’s position statement on AI tools, these tools cannot fulfill the role of, nor be listed as, an author of an article.

Authors who use generative AI tools in any part of the manuscript preparation must transparently disclose its use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section. The author is fully responsible for the accuracy of any information provided by the tool and for correctly referencing any supporting work on which that information depends. Tools used solely for spelling, grammar, and general editing are excluded from this guideline.

To ensure transparency, all authors must include one of the following declarations in their manuscript:

If AI was used:

"The authors declare that generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used solely to assist with language editing, grammar checking, and improving the clarity and readability of the manuscript. AI tools were not used to generate research data, conduct statistical analyses, formulate research findings, or draw scientific conclusions. All AI-assisted content was carefully reviewed and verified by the authors, who take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of the manuscript."

If AI was not used:

"The authors declare that no generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation, writing, analysis, or revision of this manuscript. The authors confirm that all research processes, findings, interpretations, and scientific conclusions were independently undertaken and developed without generative AI assistance. The authors take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of the manuscript."
